Give God A Tenth Of Time
64Give God A Tenth of Time
Of all the things daily that we have to do ,
Sometimes tithing time is the hardest part.
At times we get so involved in our lives
Seems like we hardly know where to start.
We neglect to give God His Rightful Place,
We don't think of time being tithed ,too.
If we go to church on Sunday Morning,
Pay our tithe that is all that we have to do.
God gave us six more days twenty four hours.,
So many more minutes .that He's in our heart.
Don't you think if we did not tithe our time
That we neglect to give Him His Rightful Part?
Tithing is our time that we spend in prayer ,
Tithing is helping a friend that we find in need.
Just saying a few kind words along the way,
Comforting a neighbor and planting a seed.
Whatever you plant you know God multiplies,
We know from experience that His Word is true.
So when you let Him have a tenth of your time,
You 're not giving a thing ,it is His Rightful Due!

We don't really think of giving God a tithe
on time , it seems like we should. God does
so much for us and sometimes through the
week we just think we have done our part ,
and maybe we just lean back and take it easy
and I guess maybe by going to church we
have done enough until next Sunday. There
are so many people that need some help
and I am sure The Lord would be happy if
you tried to help them out.Just think how
good it makes you feel when you can do a
favor for someone and not expect to gain
anything except the satisfaction of knowing
that you have helped your fellowman.I am
sure those good deeds will go down in God's
book of life !

So true, tithing is not about money alone, our time is our tithe too. Voted and rated. Looking for 'a tingle and a jingle' - hope to find it soon.
It's working out pretty good. Your description of the process reminds me of, "be a lamp unto my feet" . . . one foot and then the other as the path is illuminated.

You have such a way with words. A sweet reminder. I was raised in the Christian Church. The first non-denominational denomination. The first I remember being taught about the tithe, the young minister said that the tithe was from the law and no longer binding. There was some rustling in a pew or two. Now, we are free. We give as we have been blessed, and it is well beyond 10%.
Your poem has reminded me of that day. I want to do more.
